At the core of the mattress is a robust and durable 12.5 gauge open coil spring system, also known as a Bonnell unit and one of the firmest wires used in mattress manufacturing in the UK today. The open coil spring system is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire.
