The unique make-up of the mattress interior consists of 1000 inner pocket springs, with 4000 mini tablet springs on top and 2000 mini tablet springs below. Each spring is totally independent of any surrounding coil and housed in its own cloth sleeve, resulting in piston-like support to each part of the body. The mattress border features 2 rows of hand side stitching - a labour intensive and intricate technique that take craftsmen many years to master. Using high-tension twine and a long upholstery needle, the side-stitching process attaches the mattress border to the perimeter rows of springs. Side-stitching strengthens the mattress border and prevents it from bowing out over the years. It also offers edge-to-edge support across its width. Designed to be easy-care, the mattress is manufactured to be one-sided and does not need to be flipped over, but will require regular rotation. With customised support to each part of the body, its 5-way hinged mechanism helps to relieve aches and pains, while improving circulation and posture. The profile of the base can be raised or lowered at a touch of a button, while lumber adjusters can be adjusted to increase the firmness in the lower back area.
