Wadding for quilting, patchwork, light cushions, lining, craft padding and general sewing projects — 27" wide (68.5cm) is the practical narrow width for cushion-sized makes, smaller quilts, and craft work where 60" rolls leave costly offcuts. Light 2oz (80 gsm) polyester wadding gives approximately 5–6mm of loft — a popular all-rounder weight that suits patchwork quilts, lap throws, cushion covers and craft projects that need a touch more body than 1oz without the bulk of cushion-weight wadding. Scrim coated dacron — a thin stabilising layer bonded to the wadding that gives a smooth surface, stops the fibres pulling apart as you cut and stitch, and keeps the wadding holding its shape rather than stretching out of true on longer runs. Choose 1m for cushions, patchwork blocks and smaller makes, or 2m for larger quilts, longer upholstery jobs and multiple cushions from one piece — sent as one continuous length wherever stock allows, dispatched quickly from the UK. Machine washable at 30°C and easy to live with. Your wadding may arrive vacuum-packed in recyclable inner packaging and can look flat at first — this is normal, and the loft returns within roughly 24 to 48 hours of unpacking.
