Deutzia Raspberry Sundae bursts into flower in May, producing large fragrant blooms that last until July. Its compact habit makes it ideal as a patio shrub or as a specimen plant in borders. The deciduous foliage changes from bright green to a gold tone in autumn, extending the period of interest of this low maintenance shrub.Plant Deutzia Raspberry Sundae in a sunny position in moist, fertile, free draining soil. Water and feed regularly until the plant is fully established and cut back stems to a pair of healthy buds once flowering has finished. Mature plants can be pruned by removing a fifth of the oldest stems at the base. Mulch plants with compost or well rotted manure after pruning.
