Bring the sunshine home with this pair of citrus trees - one lemon and one orange - ready to thrive in your care. These sun-worshipping plants, popular in the Mediterranean, will reward you with juicy fruits after about a year. Perfect for juices, jams, chutneys, or even frozen as refreshing ice cubes, the versatility extends to the zest, a delightful addition to cooking and baking. The attractive, ellipsoidal yellow fruits also make a lovely ornamental display. Plant in a pot using a mix of ericaceous and John Innes No. 3 compost, ensuring the plant sits at its original soil level. Water well, and place in a conservatory (ideally around 18°C*), away from draughts and radiators. Once the frost risk has passed (May to October), they can enjoy the outdoors. Water generously in summer, misting daily to boost humidity and deter pests. Feed with citrus fertiliser every two weeks. Bring them indoors before the first frosts, reducing watering during winter but preventing complete dryness. Note that inconsistent watering can cause fruit drop. These vigorous growers reach approximately 1.5m high and 1.2m wide (if unrestricted). Supplied as two trees in 9cm pots.
