B&Q - Calendula Art Shades Mixed 1 Seed Packet (100 Seeds)
Thompson & Morgan
Burst into summer with the Thompson and Morgan Calendula Art Shades Mixed Seeds. It features a dazzling mix of calendula seeds that fill your garden with fiery orange, soft apricot and creamy blooms from June right through to September, creating a magical display that glistens in the sunlight. Enjoy the charm of English marigolds that thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, rewarding you with masses of flowers that are not only a feast for the eyes but also edible, adding a zesty touch to salads or a splash of colour as a saffron substitute. With a height up to 60cm and a spread up to 20cm, these calendula art shades are perfect for pollinator-friendly gardens and cottage borders, and you'll find them easy to grow with just a little watering and deadheading to keep the blooms coming all summer long. Direct sow calendula seeds outdoors where they are to grow from April to May. Choose a position in full sun on well-drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of one centimetre in drills spaced 30cm apart and cover the seed with its own depth of soil to exclude light. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes five to ten days. When calendula seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 30cm apart. Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead faded calendula flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced and prevent them from self-seeding. Culinary note: Calendula flowers are edible. The petals have been used as a substitute for saffron, and they make a bright and zesty addition to salads. Product Specifications: Position: Full sun. Height: Up to 60cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 20cm when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. An image may be included to illustrate the supply, but it can vary with seasonal changes (e.g., deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
