This variety is simple to cultivate and highly rewarding for those who enjoy daily picking. Each bean typically attains a length of up to 15 cm (6 inches) and boasts excellent nutritional value and flavour, making it a delightful complement to a wide range of dishes. Sow dwarf bean seeds indoors from April to May for later transplantation or direct sow outdoors from late May to July. For early crops in a greenhouse, sow in a warm environment starting in February. When sowing indoors, place bean seeds at a depth of 4 cm (1.5 inches) in 7.5 cm (3-inch) pots or trays filled with free-draining seed compost. Use a propagator or seal the container inside a plastic bag at a temperature of 18-21°C (65-70°F) until germination, which occurs within 7-10 days. Light exposure is crucial for germination. Once seedlings emerge, continue growing them in cooler conditions until all risk of frost passes, and the plants are robust enough for transplantation. Gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting them 20 cm (8 inches) apart in rich, well-drained soil in full sun, providing protection from strong winds.
