Thompson & Morgan Dianthus Chinensis Heddewigii Victoriana 1 Packet (30 Seeds) from B&Q
Thompson & Morgan
Dianthus 'Victoriana' is a hardy perennial, producing neat compact clumps of grey-green foliage. Throughout the summer months, you’ll enjoy an abundance of blooms in a range of antique shades, including red, rose and pink. A lovely fragrance only adds to their charm. Perfect for adding a splash of colour and a touch of elegance to your borders.Sow Dianthus seeds indoors from February to April on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays and cover with a fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or seal container inside a polythene bag and keep at a temperature of between 18-20C (64-68F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination usually takes 14 - 30 days. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow Dianthus plants on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise pinks to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost. Plant Dianthus at a distance of 23cm (9") apart on any fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Alternatively plant Dianthus 'Rainbow Loveliness Improved Mixed' in containers on a sunny patio.Feed and water Dianthus plants regularly until they are fully established. Deadhead faded Dianthus flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced throughout the summer.Supplied as 1 Packet of 30 SeedsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
