How to grow: Soak overnight in cold water or file a tiny notch in the seed coat before sowing. Sow seed individually in pots in early spring at 21-24C (70-75F) 6mm (0.25 inch) deep in a good seed compost, sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful. Germination usually takes 10-16 days. Grow on in cooler conditions, and transplant into 13cm (5 inch) pots. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, once the weather has warmed up.
