Chioggia is an easy-to-grow, sun-loving, traditional Italian globe-shaped beetroot with a sweet taste, perfect for salads or roasting. Each packet contains 80 hardy annual seeds, ready to be sown directly outdoors from March to July for a steady supply of delicious roots from summer onwards. With a compact growth habit up to 30cm tall and 15cm spread, they’re ideal for garden beds or allotments and thrive best in sunny, well-drained soil. Direct sow beetroot seeds outdoors from March to July in a weed-free, sunny position in fertile, light, well-drained soil. Sow beetroot seeds thinly in shallow drills at a depth of three centimetres and 30cm apart. Germination will usually take 12 to 24 days.
