Companion planting: try growing tomatoes with French marigolds to deter whitefly, and basil, chives or mint to deter aphids and other pests. Height and spread: 30cm (12").Plant tomato plants directly into containers using good quality compost, and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions until they are fully rooted in.
