With a prolonged cropping period extending to October, you can enjoy a continuous supply of fresh, crisp pods ideal for culinary uses like stir-fries and salads, or simply for enjoying straight from the vine. How to Grow: - Direct sow seeds outdoors from March to June, once the soil has begun to warm. - Choose a location with full sun. - Prepare your soil by ensuring it is moist, fertile, and well-drained, keeping it free from weeds. - Sow seeds at intervals of 5cm (2") apart, at a depth of 4cm (1½"). Rows should be spaced 75cm (30") apart. - Provide support for your plants using twigs, wire, or netting. - Consider using fine mesh to protect against birds and pests. - Water consistently, especially during the flowering stage, to maximize pod production. - Begin harvesting the edible pods approximately 12–13 weeks after sowing, just as the peas begin to swell.
