Thompson & Morgan Campsis Radicans 1.7 Litre Potted Plant X 1 from B&Q
Thompson & Morgan
Campsis radicans is an impressive exotic-looking climber, which is surprisingly hardy given its tropical looks. Bold trumpet-shaped blooms hang in pendulous clusters of red-orange about 8cm long from the ends of the branches from August to October. The tropical flowers are complemented by the handsome pinnate leaves of this vigorous self-clinging vine. This plant will quickly cover a south or west-facing wall with lush green foliage, easily climbing vertical surfaces. The flowers attract a wealth of beneficial pollinators to the garden. Maximum height: 1,200cm (472in). Maximum spread: 400cm (157in).Although Campsis are fully hardy, they will perform better when grown against a warm, sunny wall for added protection and better flowering performance. Plant into moist, but well-drained soil in a sunny position. Alternatively, grow Campsis plants in patio containers using soil-based compost such as John Innes No.2, and add extra grit for drainage. Once Trumpet Vine plants are established in the border, they will prove to be drought-resistant. Prune plants in late winter.Product specifications:Position: Sun or Semi-ShadeHeight: Up to 1,200cm when fully establishedSpread: Up to 400cm when fully establishedSupplied as 1 x Campsis radicans 1.7-litre potted plantFlowering period: August to OctoberImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
