Despite its surprising membership in the campanula (Bellflower) family, it produces long-tubed, trumpet-shaped flowers with starry petals in late summer, offering a delightful fragrance reminiscent of honey that lasts for several weeks. With a reasonably swift growth rate, Brighamia insignis can transform into an impressive tree-like specimen with a tall, woody stem over time. Evolving in rocky crags and cliffs, its bulbous stem serves as a water storage organ, enabling it to endure water stress and a dry atmosphere, making it an excellent houseplant with minimal watering requirements.
