Ok, so this one’s not technically a spinach, but its thicker leaves mean you don’t have to pick as much to make a meal, and it’s still packed with goodness. Easy to grow, New Zealand Spinach is a bushy perennial that grows quickly, and it’s great as an edible ground cover plant. Harvest late June-early October. Height 20-30cm (8-12"); spread 60-70cm (24-28").Growing InformationSow seeds directly into a well-prepared seedbed with plenty of added compost, 1cm (½") deep into a drill 5cm (2") apart. Drills should be 30cm (12") apart. Cover with soil. (Germination 10-14 days). Thin to leave seedlings at 15cm (6") between plants. Alternatively, start plants off in small pots in a greenhouse and transplant out after the chance of frost has passed.
