Recorded in 2025 between Preston and London, Dreams For Somebody Else hears home recordings blur with studio production from LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip\u2019s Al Doyle, whose electronic credentials signify a new chapter for the band, expanding the dark-hued dreampop of their debut into a more electronic, club-adjacent sound. Through this new lens, the band harnesses repetitive structures to channel the catharsis of dance music while exploring themes of isolation, dissociation and identity - drawing inspiration from Annie Ernaux\u2019s The Years. \u201CWhilst recording the songs for \u2018Dreams For Somebody Else\u2019, we really connected with the concept of Annie Ernaux\u2019s book, \u2018The Years\u2019 - a \u2018collective autobiography\u2019 pieced together from mismatched fragments from her past, conjuring the effect that she\u2019s merely an observer of her own life. This concept merges into the White Flowers world, where time, rather than being restrictive, is fluid and boun.
