Prunus lusitanica Portuguese Laurel plants are garden shrubs which are perfect as bushy hedging or for creating garden screening for privacy. Long and slender leaves are glossy and vibrant green, with small white flowers blooming against the green backdrop throughout the spring, making way for small red berries in autumn. These garden plants are perfect for hedging thanks to their attractive, dense foliage and hardiness - it will grow well in most soil types, in cold exposed areas and even in shade. They are relatively low maintenance shrubs but can be pruned in spring or autumn to maintain their size and shape.
