Pittosporum Golden Ball is a compact garden shrub with dense foliage and a naturally rounded growing habit that makes it ideal for topiary. Also known as Mock Orange or Japanese Cheesewood, this charming evergreen shrub provides colour and texture interest throughout the year. The shrub features young golden yellow leaves that turn a bright shade of yellow-green as they mature. From spring into early summer, the foliage is decorated with clusters of small purple flowers. These are sweetly scented and act as a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. A Golden Ball Mock Orange plant makes an excellent addition to any outdoor space. It flourishes in patio pots or containers, adds height and texture to beds and borders, and is dense enough to use as hedging or screening. Pittosporum is a low maintenance shrub that is easy to grow and care for. Choose a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade and plant the shrub in moist but well-draining soil.
