'Katherine Havemeyer' is an award-winning French Lilac that features enormous, densely packed panicles of heavily fragrant, double flowers. The blooms transition beautifully, starting as dark purplish-pink buds and opening out into a soft, lavender-pink, creating a beautiful, multi-tonal effect on a sturdy, upright shrub. Like all lilacs, it resents sitting in waterlogged soil and requires excellent drainage and plenty of sunlight. It benefits from an annual feed with a general-purpose fertilizer; ensure you deadhead the spent blooms immediately after they fade to direct the plant's energy into producing next year's fragrant flower buds. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
