Also known as Scabious, Knautia Melton Pastels is a beautifully free flowering perennial that brings soft, airy colour to the garden from mid-summer into autumn. Its delicate pincushion like blooms appear in shades of pink, lilac, and raspberry, rising on slender stems that add gentle movement to borders and beds. Loved by bees and butterflies, it’s a wonderful choice for creating a relaxed, cottage garden feel with long lasting seasonal interest. Easy to grow and wonderfully resilient, Knautia thrives in sunny spots with well drained soil. Once established, it needs very little attention beyond occasional deadheading to encourage fresh blooms. It’s ideal for mixed borders, wildlife friendly planting schemes, and naturalistic displays, returning reliably each year with minimal fuss. A light trim in late autumn or early spring will keep plants tidy and ready for another season of colour.
