Satin is a weave with a shiny surface on one side and a duller finish on the other, with sheen ranging from subtle to high gloss. Lightweight satins like charmeuse drape softly, while heavier types like duchess provide structure. Crepe-back satin is reversible, with glossy and textured sides. Crepe, originally made from silk, is now commonly made from polyester or synthetics. Produced by hard twisting, it ranges from lightweight to heavyweight with wrinkled to smooth textures and excellent drape This is a lovely medium weight fabric ideal for dressmaking. This fabric is available in a great variety of colours and weighs approximately 194 grams per square metre. Suggested Washing Instructions: 40 degrees. Please allow 10% shrinkage for all fabrics to be on the safe side and always test a sample first to find the most suitable way to wash your chosen fabrics. Approx Width: 150cm / 60" - Our fabrics are cut off the roll and will always be sent in one continuous length. If for any reason we cannot send your fabric in one piece we will contact you to discuss the options. For all fabrics we advise washing before making up in the same manner as you would with subsequent washes (including drying methods) to remove any shrinkage
