Description:A thin, bituminous based aluminium protective coating of brushing consistency that dries to a silvery finish.UsesBond It ALUMINIUM SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT is a light/heatreflective coating that will provide protection against solardegradation and heat gain. It is suitable for use over bituminouscoatings, aged asphalt and primed steel. It is not suitable for directapplication to expanded polystyrene.PreparationAll surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, dry and free fromsurface contaminants such as grease, rustand dirt. If necessary, remove any organicgrowth i.e. lichen, with a fungicidal washsuch as Bond It MOULD STOP. Ifthe surface is still dusty aftercleaning, or covered withweathered bitumen, primewith BITUMEN PRIMER andallow to dry.ApplicationSTIR VERY THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Do not thin. Applyimmediately and continue stirring periodically during use. Applyby brush or mohair roller When brushing, use soft bristle brushesapplying the lightest of pressure. The product will appear bronzecoloured in the tin, but will turn silver as it dries.Over recently applied bituminous surfaces allow the followingminimum periods to elapse after the final coat has dried beforeapplying ALUMINIUM SOLAR REFLECTIVE PAINT:-hot applied coatings ‐ 24 hours.solvent based coatings ‐ 10 days.water based coatings ‐ 14 days.Apply 2 coats, the second coat being applied as soon as the first coat isdry.Over bituminous surfaces apply the thinnest coat necessary toobliterate the black colour of the bitumen coating for the firstcoat. The second coat should also be thin. Avoid the formation ofpools.
