Description:A highly penetrative, thin bituminous solution for priming surfaces prior to the application of bituminousmaterialsUsesBITUMEN PRIMER can be used to prime concrete roofs andfloors, cementitious screeds/renders, bitumen felt, masticasphalt, weathered corrugated iron and steel. It is therecommended primer for use with the BITUBOND range ofbituminous roof coatings, flashing tapes or mastics.PreparationAll surfaces must be structurally sound, clean, dry andfree from surface contaminants such asgrease, rust and dirt. If necessary,remove any organic growth i.e. moss orlichen, with a fungicidal wash such asMOULD STOP. On bare metal a rustinhibiting product, such as red oxide orzinc phosphate should be applied andallowed to harden.ApplicationApply by brush or roller. Using a brush, scrub the primer intothe surface. Ensure that only a thin coat is applied and thatthere is no pooling. Priming should extend at least 75mmbeyond the area to be waterproofed. Leave to dry for 2-3hours before continuing with further work.With fibre cement or dry rag based bituminous felts, applygenerously to saturate the surface.Drying TimeApproximately 3-6 hours depending on drying conditions.May be extended for heavy coatings or in cold weather.Cleaning Of ToolsClean with paraffin (kerosene) or Bond It WHITE SPIRITColourBlack in colour.
