Nutri-Fix NP is a bio media and bacterial food source designed specifically for the effective reduction of nitrate and phosphate levels in aquaria. Unlike traditional carbon dosing methods, which can be unpredictable and risky, Nutri-Fix NP utilizes a 100% pure, fixed carbon source bio-polymer that promotes rapid bacterial growth in a fluidised reactor, keeping the process controlled and separate from the main display tank. This bio-polymer serves as a primary food source, encouraging healthy bacterial colonisation that assimilates nitrate and phosphate as the population grows. The resulting bacterial biomass, or 'bacterial mulm', can then be physically exported through agitation, and the effluent can be redirected towards a protein skimmer for effective removal via foam fractionation.
