Essential Rhythm and Blues Hits 40 Recordings on 2 CDs Various Artists
Essential Rhythmn and Blues Hits 40\nRecordings on 2 CDs\n\nBobby King Sonny Jackson Ike and Tina\nTurner\n\n\""Rhythm and Blues\"", or at least its\noriginal fifties and sixties incarnation, was a term usually attributed to\nJerry Wexler of Atlantic Records. He had realised that there was a recognisable\nand distinct form of music that was prevalent in all the major cities of the\nUnited States. This compilation is drawn mainly from the 1958-1962 period. Instead there were the\nsanitised teen idols, who produced acceptable pop for the teens without rocking\nany boats. However, there were hundreds of minor independent record labels\nspringing up and feeding the black American market who sought something with a\nbit more guts and power.\n\nDisc: 1\n\n 1.
