A perfect partner to their Handmade Oil Colours, this potent matt varnish from Michael Harding creates a strong, protective layer to finished pieces.\n\nMade using a blend of beeswax & double-rectified turpentine to a 19th Century formula, this Matt Varnish is designed as a final varnish layer to completely dry oil paintings. As such, it is best to wait around 6 months for the work to be reliably dry (or 12, dependent on the number of layers involved).\n\nApplied sparingly, once the varnish layer is dry it is able to be buffed using a dry cloth, producing a satin sheen if preferred.
