How Bokashi Composting Works Add cooked or uncooked food scraps to the bucket. Sprinkle Bokashi bran over each layer. Press down firmly to remove air pockets. Secure the lid using the triple lock system. Drain liquid regularly using the stainless steel ball valve tap. Leave sealed for 2 to 3 weeks to complete fermentation. The fermented material can then be dug into soil, layered into a compost heap or added to a wormery.
