This kit has been specially designed so children can create their own model solar system and because of its size it is also an ideal demonstration model for the classroom. The sun is a large 15cm diameter hollow polystyrene sphere in which the other solid polystyrene balls (planets) can be stored and it is supplied with a flat sided polystyrene ring on which it sits. The wooden rods, featuring a sharp point at one end, are easy to trim to size and push into the spheres to allow the basic model to be constructed and then painted and/or decorated as desired.
