Deep bronze, mahogany. Oily in my glass, with legs that develop slowly. Nose: Deep, rich, heavily sherried fruits - raisins, plumbs, macerated berries. Soft, crumbly, muscovado sugar. Jamaica ginger cake and spiced apple compote. Alcohol is well integrated. Palate: Medium mouthfeel. More rich red fruit with redcurrants, blackcurrants and raisins. Dark malt loaf. Wood spices with cinnamon and cloves. A touch of dark chocolate, a suggestion of tobacco. Alcohol is again well integrated. Finish: Long finish.
