Simply\ncut a circle of fabric big enough to cover the outer button (37mm diametre\ncircle should be enough)\n\n2. With a hand sewing needle, sew a small slip\nstitch around the edge of the circle, about 3-4mm in from the edge.\n\n3. Pull the thread to gather the fabric around the\nshank, placing the outer button in the middle and pull tightly. Cast off.\n\n4. Push the button back over the shank to fully\nenclose the raw edge of the fabric.\nThe buttons can be made with or without a button pre.
