Shogun
The kataba is a backless style of Japanese pull saw designed for deep cuts all the way through a material. It can be used with deep timber sections or sheet materials. The Shogun OK265RC Universal Kataba saw is specifically designed for rip cuts (parallel to the direction of the wood grain)). It cuts very fast thanks to its narrow blade and medium fine 16tpi tooth pattern. The blade fixes to a traditional Japanese rattan wrapped wooden handle that offers fantastic feel and control. The blade has 16tpi toothing with periodic pairs of rip teeth that act as rakers to efficiently remove the waste dust. Capable of Rip, Cross and Angled cuts in all types of timber including man made boards. You can rip down an 8′ x 4′ board with this saw.The result is highly efficient waste clearance which helps keep the cut on track. It can be paired with OK265 Cross Cut Saw, to handle all eventualities.Shogun OK265RC Specification:Blade Length: 265mmBlade Height: 60mmBlade Thickness (Plate): 0.6mmBlade Thickness (Kerf): 0.9mmToothing: 1.75mm (16tpi)Maximum Cutting Depth: UnlimitedOverall Length: 600mmReplaceable Blade: Yes. When in use, the cutting action is on the pull-stroke hence Japanese saws are often referred to as pull saws. The saw is designed to cut as you draw it through the timber, totally the opposite to a traditional western saw.
