This\nprogramme explores these lines using archive film from the era of British\nRailways.\n\nAcross the Northern Lakes: The line from Penrith to Keswick\nusing archive film taken in the last years of operation with the intermediate\nstations, terminus and lineside views. Includes the \u2018Lakes Express\u2019. \n\nCross Country to Kirkby Stephen: The line from Penrith\nthrough Appleby East and Warcop to Kirkby Stephen in the years before closure.\nThe intermediate stations are featured from various viewpoints in the 1950s and\nin 1960.
