Traditionally used on a ledge and braced door, a thumb latch set is a decorative door latch with a thumb shaped lever. When the thumb shaped lever is pressed down this operates a thumb bar which passes through the door, this lifts the latch bar on the opposite side causing it to open.\nOur blacksmith thumblatches are hammered into shape from mild steel using the traditional manufacturing method of an anvil and fire.\nThumblatches are usually used in conjunction with a tee hinge on traditional plank doors.\nMaximum door thickness: 55mm.\nSupplied with matching SS wood screws.\nHandle Length: 210mm\n Thumb Bar Length: 140mm\n Latch Length: 190mm\nOur external beeswax is unique to From the Anvil and is manufactured from an anti-corrosive beeswax. It has a matt richness and like our standard beeswax, the depth of colour ranges from blue to deep red ochre. An extremely natural finish and a far softer alternative to a black powder coated finish.
