About this Wire Work's release Wire Works Port Wine LBV is a dual maturation of White Peak's lightly-peated malt, initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, and finished in ‘Late Bottled Vintage’ Port barriques, which impart vibrant, fruity-sweet notes to White Peak's aging whisky. LBV Port wine itself is made from grapes harvested in a specific year, and left to cask age from 4 to 6 years, allowing a gentle oxidation, and providing a well-rounded, fruity, and velvety profile.
