They are handcarved from acacia wood also known as monkey pod or rain tree. This tree is prolific and is managed on plantations to sustain supply. As each item is individually carved there will be minor variations. Please note that acacia wood varies from a very light almost white colour right through to a rich dark brown. I have had these turtles carved and left unstained to show the grain ensuring that the natural beauty shines through. Each turtle may vary considerably colourwise.
