It's a kind of magic! This is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, made mostly of whisky from the closed Imperial Distillery, drawn from first-fill bourbon barrels and blended with a younger Speyside whisky which was re-racked into Oloroso-seasoned butt casks. After sampling them three years later, the whisky proved so compelling that the Compass Box team began more experimentation, leading to the Magic Cask! This expression was bottled in March 2020 at 46% abv without chill-filtration or added colouring, with just 5,538 bottles produced.
