In medium light intensity, the upper side of the leaves will be olive green to orange in colour. The underside of the leaves will be light purple to dark red. With very intense light, good supply of liquid fertilizer and CO2, it grows quite fast and might develop a strong light red hue. It is sold in emersed form. Its emersed leaves are mostly green. Once planted in the tank plant will go through transition period changing colour of the leaves. The colour will depend on the conditions under which the plant grows.
