About this Woodrow's whisky From Woodrow’s of Edinburgh’s Warehouse Reserve range comes this bold and complex 11-year-old Glenrothes, distilled on 26 June 2014 and bottled on 16 July 2025. Initially matured in a refill hogshead, the whisky was split into eight small bloodtubs made from American and European oak seasoned with Oloroso, PX, and Montilla, before being vatted back together after three years for a supercharged finish. Bottled at a formidable cask strength of 61.6% with natural colour and no chill filtration, this release delivers a sherried intensity without losing Glenrothes’ signature character. The nose layers sweet strawberries and boiled sweets with savoury miso and cigar leaf. The palate is rich and oily, brimming with rum-soaked raisins, almonds, plums, and black cherries, lifted by gentle umami. The finish lingers with strawberries, black pepper, and a tang of balsamic vinegar.
