Tom's Studio

Tom's Studio is a little bit different to most pen makers. The first pen designed by Tom was inspired by his wife, Gemma, an avid calligrapher who used plastic mass-produced calligraphy pens which didn't reflect the quality of her work. He decided to take matters into his own hands. Combining his experience as a product designer and his background in furniture along with his experience working in a blacksmith's forge, he was able to manufacture a new pen for her. Tom's ideas for the stationery world took off from there; he founded Tom's Studio and has been using his creativity to create high quality unique pens and accessories ever since. The Studio fountain pen is inspired by the best elements of a calligraphy pen which have been applied to a fountain pen. The nibs are interchangeable, and include flexible options in a range of sizes. The barrel is made from solid aluminium and brass using precision CNC lathes, and each pen is designed to last a lifetime. The Spark is available in a range of colours. Each pen is dip-dyed by hand and the bead-blasted finish gives the pen a good level of grip while still maintaining a satin sheen. The cap is trimmed with 14 carat gold which doubles as a counterweight. Gold-plated nib with an incredibly durable iridium tip means this pen is designed to last while still looking beautiful. Refill with bottled ink, converter supplied. Approx dimensions: 145mm closed; 160mm posted; 127mm unposted; weighs 33g with cap, 16g without. Presented in a gold foiled gift box.
