Utilizing a highly efficient longitudinal flow for greater carbon contact time, FCCBKDF2 is ideal where a long contact time allows for high chlorine as well as other organic reductions. Cartridges are filled with waterwashed coconut shell activated carbon, high-capacity strongly acidic ion exchange resin and KDF-55. Each layer plays an important role in potable water purification. KDF utilizing redox reactions kills or inhibits bacteria growth, converts chlorine to chlorides and removes iron, hydrogen sulfide and heavy metals (lead, arsenic, etc.).
