Today it\u2019s still standing \u2014 now draped in clematis, weathered silver-grey, and more beautiful for every year it\u2019s been outside. It\u2019s carved from solid Douglas Fir in a tangled vine design, with hearts, flowers, stars, and celestial motifs worked into every surface. Because the carving runs all the way around, there\u2019s no \u201Cback\u201D \u2014 it looks just as good from the garden as it does from the ceremony side. The wood naturally develops a silver-grey patina outdoors, or can be treated to maintain its original warm tone.
