The top draws from whatever reclaimed Welsh timbers are best in the workshop at the time \u2014 oak, beech, chestnut, larch, sycamore \u2014 fitted together with reclaimed slate inlays that run across the surface like natural fault lines. The result is a coffee table that looks like it was assembled by someone who understood both craft and composition. The legs are a particularly good detail: reclaimed Welsh oak gate and fence posts, weathered, gnarled, and carrying thirty or forty years of outdoor life in their grain. They ground the table in the Welsh landscape in a way that no turned leg ever could. The construction is solid throughout; the surface is finished with organic Danish oil that brings out the different colours of each timber without flattening them.
