History continued: In November 2022, the car was offered at auction by Anglia Car Auctions in partially restored condition. Despite badly corroded sills, it retained its rare black and grey Cadiz fabric upholstery, standard on the Cortina S and difficult to source, in remarkably sound condition. The car caught the eye of Joseph Monaghan of Monaghans, a family-run dealership in Galway, Ireland, with over 50 years in business.
