The waist belt is padded and with a secure velcro release and a 10"coiled leash attached, this belt is very easy to use and is perfect for flat water paddling as well as paddling in faster-flowing water. The belt stays put and is very comfortable due to the padded waist but if it needs to come off quickly it is easily removed by pulling on the velcro.
