The Idle Control Valve features a precision-ground valve seat and plunger tip geometry matched to create a metal-to-metal line contact seal, while the Idle Speed Control Valve keeps leakage within a very small range while allowing fine air metering at small openings. Before removing the old IAC Valve, disconnect the battery negative terminal and let the engine cool; take a photo of the vacuum hose connections and component orientation for reference, then loosen the two mounting bolts and pull the Idle Air Control Valve straight out without twisting; install the replacement part with the included gasket and tighten the screws diagonally.
