This swivel Bar stool is made up of two visually distinct parts, creating a striking contrast between lightness and massiveness. The contrast is accentuated by the use of two different materials: Wood for the seat and Steel for the Footrest. The Solid oak top features a slender Column topped by a round seat. The upper part seems to levitate. The lower footrest is a heavy, stable base in Thermolacquered steel. Like a ship's anchor, the base anchors the Stool to the ground with great stability. Column and base are linked by an ultra-sturdy steel swivel mechanism. Norwegian studio designers Anderssen & Voll: The initial idea for Massif came from a search for new, strong forms, while ensuring that the seat and Footrest were represented in equal measure. A large disc serves as a support for the feet - it's as if we'd lifted part of the floor and put it on four legs''.
