This 7mm Irwin HSS TCT drill bit is an excellent choice for medium-sized drilling operations in hardened materials. Equipped with a tungsten carbide tip, this drill bit excels at penetrating hardened steel, cast iron, bronze alloys, and manganese alloyed steel, effectively drilling materials up to 50 Rockwell C hardness. The four-facetted ground tip design provides two critical advantages: it ensures perfect centring for accurate hole placement, and it significantly reduces the drilling pressure required, making the operation more controlled and efficient. The Chrome Vanadium Steel body, hardened to 56 Rockwell C, offers exceptional durability under demanding conditions. This 7mm bit is designed for use with stationary drilling machines and delivers best results when operated with a 3-6% coolant emulsion. Following Irwin's coolant recommendation will maximise cutting performance and substantially extend the service life of the drill bit.
