Crafted from hand-hammered aluminium, the Rivet collection draws inspiration from the industrial aesthetic associated with Brutalism. This furniture highlights the simplicity and raw, unprocessed look of raw aluminium, which has not been treated. The first piece in the Rivet series was developed in 2011 at Statens Værksteder for Kunst, the National Art Workshops in Copenhagen, with the goal of finding an alternative to Aluminium welding. Danish designer Jonas Trampedach developed a unique artisanal process for assembling the various aluminum boards. The Rivet collection is based on a riveting technique that creates perpendicular joints between laser-cut sheets of raw aluminium. The individual sheets are assembled by hand using a hammer in a cold-forming process. Each piece is one-of-a-kind. The Rivet Box end table features clean, precise lines. It is a sturdy, timeless piece of furniture that can be arranged vertically or horizontally. Rivet can be used as an end table, bedside table, or storage unit. Due to the raw nature of the aluminium, natural scratches and irregularities may be present on the surface. Over time, the material will develop a graceful patina, and marks and a tinted finish will appear, adding a unique character to your piece.
