Muuto Vase Blue Glass. Dimensions: W 31 x D 10.5 cm x H 48.5 cm. With its narrow shape, the Ridge Vase offers a new way of displaying flowers. The aligned presentation allows each flower to be individually highlighted. Arranged in this way, the bouquet takes on a graceful, almost surreal lightness. The Ridge Vase was designed by the Finnish Studio Kaksikko. Heading up this Scandinavian label are Salla Luhtasela and Wesley Walters, a creative duo who share a common interest in functional, discreet shapes that highlight the tactile qualities of each material. The glass surface of the Ridge vase is embellished with raised striations. These delicate grooves form a refined indentation and give the Ridge vase an organic, vegetal dimension. Studio Kaksikko on the Ridge vase: ''The idea for the Ridge vase came from travelling around different cities, looking for details with an architectural imprint. Back in our studio in Finland, we started hand-drawing and making models in Paper and Ceramic. With its vertical lines and unique shape, inspired by a Parisian Door, the Ridge Vase presents a new way of placing flowers through modern expression, with a sculptural character when not in use. The Ridge Vase features an oval shape enhanced by refined serration. We've added the function of a small handle for use when moving the vase from one room to another.''
