Tests can be performed using the technical method (3p, 4p), also with the use of additional clamps (multiple earthing), but also the two-clamp and impulse methods (earth impedance measurement). The two-clamp method allows, in some situations, to perform earth resistance measurements without the need to use auxiliary probes driven into the ground; the impulse method is used when diagnosing lightning earthings, but also enables measurements of extensive, multiple earthings, also connected underground, without the need to interfere with the circuit.
